Yemeni Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik confirmed on Wednesday that he and other cabinet members were quickly whisked from Aden airport to Maasheq Palace after an attack on the facility. The attack on the airport happened moments after a plane landed carrying the newly formed cabinet. “It would have been a disaster if the plane was bombed,” the PM said, insisting the plane was the target of the attack as it was supposed to land earlier. Saeed tweeted that he and his cabinet were safe and unhurt. He called the explosions a “cowardly terrorist act” that was part of the war on “the Yemeni state and our great people.” Yemeni Information Minister Moammar Al-Eryani also said that all the members of the government were safe. "We assure our great people that members of the government are fine, and we assure you that the cowardly terrorist attack by the Iran-supported Houthi militia will not deter us from carrying out our patriotic duty," he said on Twitter. Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed al-Jaber condemned the attack. "Peace, security and stability will prevail thanks to Yemenis' strong will and their brave government,” he said in a tweet.
