UAE Slams Turkey’s ‘Colonial Delusions’ in Arab World

United Arab Emirates State Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar Gargash demanded on Saturday that Turkey cease its meddling in Arab internal affairs. In a tweet seen as a response to recent statements by the Turkish defense minister, he said: “Relations are not managed by threats and warnings.” “There is no room for colonial delusions in this day and age,” he added. “Turkey is better off ceasing its interference in Arab affairs,” he suggested. Ankara has sent several thousand Syrian mercenaries from Syria to Libya where it backs the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord.
