Rift Widens Among Partners in Syria… Assad Irked with Putin’s Call

Beirut-With Conflict spiraling out of proportion and encompassing more frontiers among partners in Syria, Bashar al-Assad’s regime directly accused Russian President Vladimir Putin for hampering headway after he had announced a Truce in Aleppo.

On the other hand, confrontations, cited two days ago, still continue among those supporting Assad’s regime and the so-called Hezbollah forces present in Syria. It has also been reported that Hezbollah is currently obsessing over the cutback in its field participation and the magnitude of the role played by the Russian interference.

Atop the controversies, the Alawite community- Syrian supporters of Assad- fear that Hezbollah has gained major influence across all Syrian land. They also fear the wave of Shi’ite indoctrination being rumored across all Alawite territory.

Sources close to the Syrian regime told AFP, that incidents have become redundant—each time pro-Assad forces advance in northern Aleppo, getting closer to encircling the city, Russia intervenes by implementing a U.S. –conceded ceasefire. “It is clear that Moscow does not wish for us to recapture Aleppo,” the source added.

Moscow on Friday confirmed that the truce remains effective in Aleppo and that a similar arrangement is being concocted for the town of Daraya, located in the suburbs of Damascus in Syria.

Russia reiterated on Friday that the ceasefire was still effective despite the violations committed by the Assad regime on the eastern Opposition-held neighborhoods, which led to killing seven civilians.

In the light of Hezbollah and Assad forces hushing up the breaking of conflict among its forces in Aleppo, Legal Adviser for the Free Syrian Army (FSA) Osama Abu Zaid told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that information revealed a Russian-sponsored session being held to settle the situation which emerged as Hezbollah grew considerable influence in Damascus.

The Shi’ite Lebanon-based group took the liberty of holding sectarian ceremonials and marches, seizing control over Al-Hamidiyah Souq, the Umayyad Mosque and Ahariqh area. Hezbollah enforced security lockdown across all seized locations, arguing that Shi’ite holy shrines exist there.

Abu Zaid said that what escalated the situation between Hezbollah and Assad’s forces was the bombardment of the Sayyidah Zaynab region, where scores of Shi’ites were killed.
