Saudi Govt Stresses Kingdom’s Ongoing Efforts to Stop Israeli Attacks

The Saudi government reviewed on Tuesday the latest regional developments, underlining the Kingdom’s continued efforts on all fronts to halt Israeli violations and attacks. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held virtually amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The cabinet stressed that the Kingdom was in contact with all influential parties to exert pressure on the Israeli government and to reach a fair settlement to the Palestinian cause to meet the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital and according to international resolutions and agreements and the 2002 Arab peace initiative. On Sudan, the ministers underscored Saudi Arabia’s support to preserve its security and stability and its return to its natural place in the international community. They welcomed the outcome of last week’s Paris conference where Riyadh announced that it was providing Sudan with a grant that would cover part of its financing gap to the International Monetary Fund. The government highlighted the Kingdom’s stances at the summit during which it stressed its pioneering role in pushing forward development and investment in Africa. It also expressed its support to regional and international efforts to consolidate security and stability, resolve conflicts and combat extremism and terrorist groups in the Sahel and Sahara regions. On the pandemic, the government highlighted local efforts to curb the outbreak in Saudi Arabia, noting that 13 million vaccine shots have been distributed at inoculation centers throughout the Kingdom. The ministers stressed the need for people to continue to abide by preventive measures.
