The Moroccan Ministry of Health said that the national vaccination campaign will be expanded to cover citizens and residents aged 50 to 55. The Ministry called on all citizens of the targeted categories to continue to join this large-scale national project to achieve herd immunity. It also stressed the need to continue to respect the preventive measures before, during, and after receiving the vaccine to help contain the spread of the pandemic, especially after new virus variants were detected in Morocco. Up to 5,473,809 people have been vaccinated since launching the campaign. Up to 4,390,752 have already received the 2nd dose, according to the Ministry. Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) announced on Friday a new set of procedures for Moroccans who are stranded abroad. Passengers will have to present a number of documents at check-in for flights and test negative for COVID-19 taken within 48 hours before attending the flight.
