The Saudi Cabinet was briefed on the extraordinary meeting of Arab foreign ministers which denounced Israeli plans to annex occupied Palestinian territories. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the virtual meeting that was chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Tuesday, Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Gasabi said that the Kingdom considers the Palestinian cause a priority. Saudi Arabia rejects any type of occupation of the Palestinian territories and backs the Palestinian people to meet their aspirations in establishing an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, he said. The Cabinet affirmed that the Palestinian cause will remain a “central issue” for Arabs and Muslims, he added. The Cabinet also reviewed health and preventive measures amid the coronavirus outbreak. It was briefed on the number of cases recorded in the Kingdom, their health conditions, the medical services being provided to them, as well as future prospects to preserve public health and limit the impact of the COVID-19 disease. The Cabinet also followed-up the services provided to Saudi nationals abroad who expressed their desire to return to the Kingdom, and hailed the efforts exerted by government agencies, ad hoc committees and task teams to combat the coronavirus outbreak. The Cabinet renewed the Kingdom's condemnation of the deadly terrorist attack in North Sinai, reaffirming its solidarity with Egypt in its war on terrorism. It then reviewed the items on its agenda and took several decisions, including authorizing the Minister of Culture or his deputy to discuss with France a memorandum of understanding for cultural cooperation. The Cabinet approved an environmental MoU with Djibouti, and an agreement with The Bahamas on air transport services. It also authorized the Minister of Transport, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation or his deputy to sign a draft agreement between Saudi Arabia and Mozambique on air transport services.
