MOFA Denounces Israeli Occupation Measures, Demolition of Houses

Israeli forces have demolished homes of Palestinians who conducted an operation in August killing an Israeli girl and wounding her father and brother. The army said in a statement that its forces demolished the homes of Walid Hanatsheh in Ramallah and Yazan Mughamis in the nearby town of Birzeit. They, along with members of the terrorist cell, conducted a sabotage operation on the 23rd of August 2019. The demolition occurred after the Supreme Court of Israel turned down all the appeals -- the Court unanimously approved the demolitions in February, the statement read. Naftali Bennett, the Israeli Defense Minister, informed Shnerb’s family this morning that the demolitions had been completed. Rina Shnerb, 17, was murdered in an improvised explosive device detonated while she with her family near the Israeli settlement of Dolev. Israel’s Army routinely demolishes the homes of those accused of carrying out attacks. It argues that such measures act as a deterrent, but critics say it amounts to collective punishment. The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (MOFA) has denounced the escalation in the invasive expansive procedures and measures in the occupied Palestinian territories. It also decried the ongoing attack by the occupation against Al-Aqsa Mosque. These measures serve as a preparation for the annexation plan highlighted in the Deal of the Century promised by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The ministry affirmed that the bias of Trump’s administration towards the occupation’s policies and the announcement of the conspiracy deal encouraged the occupation and settlers to implement expansive settlement plots.
