As part of its "Misk Al-Qiyam" initiative, the Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Foundation-MiSK has launched the Qayyim platform to protect children and adolescents from the dangers associated with playing video games. According to organizers, the move aims to improve values, create a generation aware of the dangers of video games and their impact on the children's behaviors, help the concerned authorities monitor the marketed content, and contribute to the guidance of educators and parents, as well as providing them with brief information about the content of these games, and the religious and behavioral violations they contain and may badly affect children. The first-of-its-kind platform has been established in cooperation with education and psychological experts to evaluate games in an e-platform that covers the religious, psychological, mental, moral, and financial aspects to contribute to raising awareness of values among players and educators alike and help them take the necessary measures. Qayyim classifies video games according to appropriate age groups, and provides a brief description of content to make it easier for parents to take decisions. The project also works to limit the ethical violations in inappropriate games, and share information about classified games to improve values, create a generation aware of the dangers and influence of video games, help responsible authorities monitor what is on the market, and guide educators and parents.
