The Iranian authorities surrounded the protests that were called to commemorate those murdered during the last month's protests with security forces and arrested several people in different areas. Despite the internet blackout or slowdown witnessed in some regions, videos emerged on social media websites showing heavy police presence since the early morning hours in the central squares of Tehran and other cities in which protests had erupted. The police prevented the crowds from gathering in the cemetery of Karaj after the family of one of those who was murdered called for commemoratory protests in honor of the hundreds killed by security forces. One of the videos shows arrests being made in the protests while protesters chanted “For these crimes death Republic of Jurists” and “people among us were not killed so that we could revere the killers’ leader”. Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned of a "declining probability" to the implementation of the nuclear agreement. In the seemingly pessimistic statement, he said: “The America maximum pressure policy, as they call it, on Iran will continue”, making the persistence of the joint action plan on Tehran’s nuclear program more difficult. He placed the blame on European leaders because "they did take a decisive stance and ignored the American policy”.
