Saudi Arabia Records 3,460 COVID-19 Cases

Saudi Arabia registered 3,460 new coronavirus infections on Sunday, still below a peak of more than 4,700 in June 2020. One person died of complications caused by the COVID-19 disease, the Health Ministry said. A total of 578,753 cases and 8,893 deaths have now been recorded in the Kingdom. In the last 24 hours, there were also 843 recoveries, bringing the total to 546,614, the Ministry said. The Saudi Health and Education Ministries announced on Sunday that in-person learning will resume for elementary and pre-school students on January 23. The decision applies to public, private, international and foreign schools, they said in a joint statement.
