Saudi Govt Renews Kingdom’s Support to Tunisia’s Security, Stability

The Saudi cabinet reiterated on Tuesday the Kingdom’s support to Tunisia’s security and stability. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman chaired the cabinet meeting that was held virtually amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Saudi Arabia trusts that the Tunisian leadership can overcome the situation in the country and meet the aspirations of its people for prosperity and a dignified life, added the cabinet. It called on the international community to support Tunisia as it confronts its economic and health crises. The cabinet also hailed local authorities for their successful organization of the holy Hajj pilgrimage that was held without incident or any health setback amid the pandemic. The ministers reviewed the various contacts and meetings Saudi Arabia held with several fraternal and friendly nations that are aimed at bolstering relations to serve their common interests and to boost coordination over regional and international developments to preserve peace and security. They stressed that Saudi Arabia will continue to lead efforts to achieve development, prosperity and peace for people throughout the world. This position was reflected in remarks by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Global Education Summit last month. He had declared that Riyadh supports international initiatives and programs that are aimed at supporting education throughout the world. Furthermore, the ministers highlighted Saudi Arabia’s relief aid to a number of Arab and Islamic countries to help ease the impact of the pandemic. This aid is an extension of the Kingdom’s humanitarian role towards countries that have been hit hard by the pandemic. The cabinet condemned the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen for targeting civilian locations in Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles and armed drones. It also slammed them for threatening marine navigation and global trade in the Red Sea. It hailed the Saudi air defenses for thwarting all hostile Houthi acts and the Saudi-led Arab coalition’s efforts to secure international marine trade routes off the coast of Yemen. On the coronavirus outbreak in Saudi Arabia, the ministers underscored the major success of efforts in containing the pandemic. The Kingdom has so far administered 27 million vaccine shots to citizens and residents, ranking it among the top countries in the world in its vaccine drive.
