Morocco: Parents Can Choose between In-Person or Distance Learning for their Children
Arab World
Rabat - Asharq Al-AwsatThe Moroccan Education Ministry announced Saturday it has granted parents the option to choose between sending their children to school or maintain distance learning during the new academic year, which begins on September 10 amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Ministry said it is planning to vaccinate students between the ages of 12 and 17. The campaign will kick off on Tuesday. In-person education will be offered in schools that meet social-distancing conditions. The number of students in each classroom would be limited to 20. This model is mainly limited to lightly-populated rural areas, as well as schools where all students have been fully vaccinated. The hybrid teaching model will be offered at all other schools. The academic year was set to start on September 3, but delayed by a week. The health ministry called on all students and their families to strictly comply with health measures that are recommended by the authorities. People who have not received their vaccination are highly encouraged to do so.
