Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman received on Tuesday a telephone call from British Secretary of State for Defense, Ben Wallace to discuss bilateral relations and efforts to achieve the security and stability of the region. “I discussed the bilateral defense and military cooperation between our two countries and ways of strengthening it within the framework our historic relations,” tweeted Prince Khalid. He expressed Saudi Arabia’s appreciation for cooperation between Riyadh and London after Britain sent military troops and defense systems to the Kingdom with the aim of achieving joint interests in protecting regional security. For his part, Wallace said the deployment of British troops in Saudi Arabia underscores the depth of partnership between their countries, which boosts cooperation to preserve regional security and stability. Prince Khalid stressed the importance of strengthening this partnership in order to confront all threats to international security and peace and protect vital marine routes.
