Jazan - Asharq Al-AwsatSaudi Arabia’s air defenses have intercepted and destroyed five ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia toward Jazan, the Arab Coalition said in a statement on Thursday. The statement condemned the Houthi hostile attempts to target civilians and civilian objects, stressing that the coalition will continue to deter the Houthi actions to neutralize and destroy their abilities in line with international humanitarian law, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. The Houthis have continuously attempted to target regions of Saudi Arabia using explosive-laden drones, missiles and booby-trapped boats. Kuwait and Bahrain condemned in the strongest terms the continued attempts of the terrorist Houthi militia to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia. They said the Houthi aggressive acts that target civilians and residential areas, along with the stability of the region, represent a flagrant violation of international law. For its part, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation also strongly condemned the Houthi attacks that keep targeting civilians and residential areas, hailing the Saudi air defenses that thwarted the attacks. OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen called on the international community to take decisive action to end the cowardly Houthi attacks, affirming the organization's support for Saudi Arabia and in all the measures it takes to preserve its security, stability and the safety of its residents and citizens.
