The Arab Studies Institute (ASI) released a new book by Bahraini linguistic critic Aref Al Mousawi entitled "The Arabic Linguistic Discourse by Tammam Hassan." According to the author, his 208-page book is "a study that introduces a new theory that explores discourse, its analysis and study methods in the form of an intellectual project based on cognitive foundations that contribute to creating a certain thinking about a certain topic. Accordingly, the study of the Arabic linguistic discourse as a project would be an approach to study linguistic projects, and highlights their unique features, intellectual foundations, and working mechanisms. This will help determine the differences between the linguistic projects in the Arabic world, and highlight their cognitive aspects, in addition to focusing on their transformations that could be developed and harnessed to build a new linguistic discourse." This theory was an integral part of the linguistic discourse study by Egyptian Academic Tammam Hassan and his works in this field including "The Language between Criteria and Description," and "Arabic Language: Its Meaning and Foundations." The new study opens a new horizon to process the linguistic writings in the right way, and to set a new trend in understanding discourse, its study methods, and analysis.
