Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan accused on Monday the Iranian regime of destabilizing regional and international security. “Our partners in the international community must take into consideration the causes of the current tension in the region,” he said. The tensions can be traced to the Iranian regime’s violation of international agreements and treaties and its insistence on meddling in the internal affairs of regional countries and backing extremist sectarian militias, he said at a seminar on strategic dialogue and cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council and Germany. The event was held virtually by the GCC Secretariat General in preparation of the second Gulf-German Dialogue Forum. “Such seminars and forums are an important channel for the exchange of views between the GCC countries and Germany on political, security and economic issues of common interest,” said Prince Faisal, noting that relations between the two sides date back to nearly 70 years. Constructive and productive cooperation between the GCC and Germany demands that they deepen their contacts and coordination on regional and international issues, he added.
