Saudi Arabia Organizes First Global Gathering to Stimulate Social Innovation In Private Sector

Riyadh - Asharq Al-AwsatSaudi Arabia is organizing the first international gathering aimed at stimulating social innovation in the private and business sectors. Organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and the secretariat of the G20, currently chaired by the Kingdom, the gathering seeks to provide an international platform for the establishment of innovation practices, advanced tools and effective partnerships in the market-making industry. Riyadh will host the International Social Innovation Forum on the sidelines of the G20 meetings, in cooperation with the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at) and an initiative launched by Ethmaar Social Investment Company. The virtual forum taking place on the Nov.1-2 aims to spread the culture of social innovation at the local and international levels, among public and private sector institutions, research centers, educational institutions and entrepreneurs. The forum seeks to enable social innovators to learn about implementation tools, highlight advanced methodologies in the field, through the holding of dialogue sessions featuring specialists and speakers at the local and international levels. In a statement, the organizers said that the forum will also “focus on the importance of integrating expertise in the private sector to create innovative and sustainable solutions in social development.” The International Social Innovation Forum is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region. It aims to “shed light on opportunities to activate social innovation in all concerned sectors, and highlights innovators around the world and successful experiences, in addition to activating global partnerships in the region.”
