Saudi Crown Prince Meets with South Korean President

Asharq A-AwsatSaudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud met on Thursday with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol at the presidential headquarters in Seoul. In a statement, the Crown Prince expressed the Kingdom’s desire to continue to consolidate ties with South Korea. “We seek to intensify joint action to confront everything that threatens international peace and security and affects energy security and the safety of supply chains,” he said. “We look forward to raising the pace of investment coordination and strengthening partnership between the public and private sectors. We stress the importance of benefiting from the promising commercial and investment opportunities available for cooperation between our two countries, and in this context we commend the positive growth in the past years of the rates of trade exchange between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Korea,” he added. The South Korean President affirmed in his statement keenness to raise bilateral relations to a new level, indicating that the Kingdom is proud of a new future through the implementation of its Vision 2030 under the leadership of the Crown Prince. He said South Korea looked forward to expanding and developing bilateral cooperation and investment in the fields of new growth and mega projects such as NEOM, defense industries, future energy such as hydrogen, culture and tourism. He expressed his aspiration to continue close communication with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince for cooperation in developing bilateral relations between the two countries. During the official talks, the Crown Prince and the South Korean President reviewed aspects of Saudi-Korean relations, and a number of issues of common interest.
