A Cleveland police officer has died on Friday after being shot in the city's West side and authorities on Friday were seeking the person or people responsible, officials said. The shooting, which happened about 10 pm Thursday on the city's west side, also left a second person dead. Police Chief Calvin Williams told reporters that the officer who died was with the department for 25 years, saying: “Cleveland lost one of its finest.” Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association President Jeff Follmer said the second person, who was not an officer but was in the officer’s car, also died. Details about that person weren't immediately released by police, The Associated Press reported. Investigators appealed the the public early Friday for help in finding a suspect or suspects.
