Damascus-The Syrian General Authority for Books has issued the Arabic translation of the book “from Stories of Ballet” translated and edited by Mohammed Hanana. This book, which is composed of 170 pages, is written by a number of European researchers and includes an introduction talking about ballet, its history and stages, and the countries that introduced it.
The book comprises a detailed explanation about the most illustrious ballet stories like Cinderella, Romeo and Juliette, and Cleopatra.
The book has shown that the art of ballet developed in the French and Italian courts in the 16th and 17th centuries, especially the court of Louis XIV. Then this art developed in the 18th century to become a bouquet of gymnastic activities, and in the 19th century, ballet gained more popularity and has since been considered a part of the opera.
The book continues to explain that the dancing art has witnessed many reforms, and the Swedish Ballet Group was formed in Paris before it got more popularity in England at the beginning of the 20th century.
The writer and the translator move us among the different ballet stories with enjoyable style, using a detailed explanation about its techniques by using art-related vocabulary.
